Judgment Night

I really liked this one! It's nothing but action packed viewing. I needed that today.

It's about 4 guy friends that go out for a boys night that turns into a nightmare. Not a "scary" movie but a scary movie. They get themselves in quite a mess and the mess just keeps coming.

I love to watch movies and workout either on my tread climber or lifting weights. I was on the tread climber watching this and I did some extra time because the movie kept my heart rate a pumping.

Fun movie!

THE SANDLOT

This is an older movie but it's a classic! The acting is amazing and the plot wonderful.

I just watched again after many years of not seeing it. It's like good chili it just keeps getting better!

THE UNBORN

If you like scary movies you may like this one. I like to watch them because I've been in one and really had fun seeing how all the special effects were created so I'm a bit biased.

The Unborn was fun. The acting was good no academy awards but no yawning either.

Sometimes I just turn off the horror shows that have no plot and are just for blood shock and blood shock alone. This one kept me from hitting the off button.

It had some cool special effects which I always like. The ending had a predictable but fun conclusion.

I just finished this movie. Political movies can rile up all kinds of arguments. I tread lightly with them.

I can't attest to the accuracy of this movie. I can tell you that I found it very entertaining.

I think it's worth the time spent watching it. The acting was very good and the plot easy to follow.

TERMINATOR 2: JUDGEMENT DAY

Okay I'm a sucker for the Terminator series. The special effects are amazing in this one. It's my favorite of the series.

The Terminator is an action packed story about good versis evil. Ok I know that's an old tale that gets done over and over but really...are there any new tales? It's how you tell the tale that counts and this movie does it in a fun action packed way.

The beginning of the movie is hilarious. If you like Arnold Schwarzeneagger you'll love this movie. I think Linda Hamilton was her prettiest in the Terminator series. She looked amazing!

I highly suggest this one if you're looking for some action and fun.

SHUTTER ISLAND

Wow! This was something that you need to enjoy artsy fartsy stuff to appreciate.

It'a a pretty simple plot that is woven and twisted to become complex. Some great special effects are used.

The acting was good for the most part. Lenorado DiCaprio does an excellent job of course. I find him to be an exceptional actor.

The subject matter could be upsetting for some. My husband chose not to watch it after asking me for a brief idea of what it was going to expose him to.

I think it's worth your time to check this one out. You can always push the stop button and go on to another movie if need be.

DID YOU HEAR ABOUT THE MORGANS

Hugh Grant is always charming but he couldn't charm his way through this movie!

Sarah Jessica Parker is not one of my favorite actresses. She was too sweet through out the movie. I wanted to tell her to stop trying so hard.

Despite what I just said it wasn't a bad movie. It wasn't a good movie but if you like sappy light entertainment you may enjoy the movie.

BAD LIEUTENANT

I think the title says it all!

I love Nicolas Cage. I was excited to see what he would do with this movie. In my opinion he either let the director ruin his performance or he just wanted to mess around with his role.

I think he was over the top and missed the mark.

Eva Mendes was his co star and I'm a fan of her too. She tried to believe her role but fell short. The director Werner Herzog had to have lead her to her flat performance.

I could not recommend this movie!

CRAZY HEART

I thought this was a western when I first heard the title LOL...

For me it had a slow start. I won't go into details because I don't want to spoil it for you but it's about a singer who needs to find himself.

I like Jeff Bridges. He did a great job as usual. The acting was good. It's not a movie I personally would not buy it but I think it's worth watching.

THE OPEN ROAD

The open road was a great movie. My husband even like it LOL...

It's a family story basically about learning what to cherish. The father and mother help their son open his eyes about a relationship he broke up due to "work".

The acting was wonderful and the pace not too fast and not too slow. It gets a thumbs up in my book!

LONG TIME!

I haven't posted for a long time! I've been getting back into the world.

I plan on getting at least one movie reviewed a week maybe more. Just wanted you to know I'm still here!

The reason I started this post is because I had spine surgery 9 months ago. Watching movies kept me sane!

I'm getting better so my work has taken me away from my movie addiction.

I need to remember to relax and movies do that for me so I plan on watching more and telling you about them :)

THE MAIDEN HEIST

I love the actors that were in this movie. Christopher Walker, Morgan Freeman and William Macy are a great team but I thought the movie was just okay.

It's an over done plot that has a couple of fun twists in it but for the most part it was very weak.

I felt sorry for the actors because it looked like they were trying to make this movie work but just couldn't do it.

I'm not sorry I saw it but I wouldn't see it again that's for sure.

MY LEFT FOOT

This was a very good movie. It's a true story about the author and artist Christy Brown.

The acting was good and the story line flowed well. If you're looking for an inspiring story to lift your spirits this one.

GREEN FINGERS

Green Fingers is based on true story. It shares how life just can't be figured out and that it pays off to stick around and see what is around the bend.

The acting was great and the plot wonderful. It was a beautiful movie to watch as well. This is well worth your time.

YESTERDAY

This movie was nominated for an Oscar and an Emmy. I can see why.

The acting was wonderful, simple and real. It takes place in Africa. There are subtitles. I don't mind dealing with subtitles when the acting is great.

It's a sad tale that has positive messages in it.

It's about a mothers struggles to make sure her child has a better future than what she had. I don't want to spill the beans because it will ruin some of the surprises in the movie. I knew nothing about it which I think is a lot more fun.

I really liked this movie!

WILD HEARTS CAN'T BE BROKEN

This is a Disney film so it's a good family movie.

The acting wasn't great but the story line was. It's based off a true story about a young girl that had a dream and refused to let it go despite life's unfairness.

I hate it when reviewers tell too much about the story then the surprise is gone. I won't be doing that in this blog. I'll just give you a brief idea of what the movie is about and my opinion as to the worthiness of spending your time watching it.

I think this one is worth the time. Know that it's not going to WOW you with acting skills though so if that's important to you skip this movie. I like good acting but if the story is there I can get past mediocre performances.

SPACE COWBOYS

I love Clint Eastwood, Tommy Lee Jones, Donald Sutherland and James Gardner. They make this movie fun.

The plot is predictable and ordinary so if you're looking for a thrill ride this ain't it but if you like these actors it may be worth your time.

It's the old story about the young bucks against the old timers. It's an astronaut story so be ready for some "space" talk.

I wouldn't pick this one for a night when I really need something to get my teeth into but I didn't hate it either.

FLY AWAY HOME

Fly Away Home is another movie that's based on truth.

It's a great family movie about a young girl who deals with some tough situations with her parents but comes through it stronger than she could have imagined.

I don't want to give away the plot so I'm keeping this description short. Part of the fun of this movie was wondering what was going to happen next. Knowing it was a true situation is amazing.

If you're having a bad day pick up this movie. It will surely cheer you up!

BREAD AND TULIPS

Bread and Tulips is a foreign film. I like having subtitles on the first time I watch all movies so I'm good with subtitles on foreign films.

Foreign films seem to have a different flavor. I find it refreshing. Bread and Tulips is about a woman who is under appreciated by her husband and finds true love during a unplanned holiday she decides to take.

Bread and Tulips has some fun twists and turns. It has some tongue in cheek humor which I found delightful.

If you like foreign films give this one a try. I highly recommend it.

THE VISITOR

The Visitor starts out pretty slow but if you stick with it this movie has some big rewards.

It's about a lonely man opening up to the world again via some unlikely people. I really enjoyed this one.

The end left me wanting but often that happens with movies. You have to be ready to make up your own conclusion.

There were great twists in this happy/sad movie.
