THE VISITOR

The Visitor starts out pretty slow but if you stick with it this movie has some big rewards.

It's about a lonely man opening up to the world again via some unlikely people. I really enjoyed this one.

The end left me wanting but often that happens with movies. You have to be ready to make up your own conclusion.

There were great twists in this happy/sad movie.

WENDY AND LUCY

This is a dog lovers movie. Most movies about dogs get my heart. I also have a soft spot for the homeless so I liked this movie.

The actress Michelle Williams did a great job.

The movie is about a young girl who is trying to get to Alaska to get a high paying job in a cannery. Her dog's needs put a bump in her plans.

It's not fancy but the lesson is a good one. I really enjoyed this simple movie.

FLYBOYS

This is not a chick flick but surely has romantic interest.

It's based off a true story. As I stated before I love true stories. This one will buff up your history knowledge. That can come in handy at parties or if you find yourself in the "Cash Cab"LOL

It's the Lafayette Escadrille story, a group of Americans who volunteered for the French military before the US entered world war one.

I'm not a big fan of war movies but this one had lots of emotion and allows attachment to the different men who were part of this event.

I give it a thumbs up!

RUBY BRIDGES

Ruby Bridges is based on a true story. It's about the first black child to take part in segregated education in the South.

I love true stories. It's a great way to learn history.

Kevin Pollack is one of my favorite actors. He was one of the main characters. Kevin always does a great job. Some of the other acting left something to be desired but the story line and the historic value made this a movie worth watching.

SHILOH

Okay I didn't know this was a series. I'm not a big lover of seeing those but I chose it so oooops!

The first show was fun. I love most movies with dogs in them. The acting wasn't too bad but no Oscars here. It's about a boy who falls in love with a dog that another person is mistreating.

It had it's moments but after seeing the second show I decided to let the series go.

They changed the cast so the main actor was a different kid. The first boy was okay at acting but the second one must have been a friend of someones because he looked bored through out the film.

The father in the second show was completely unbelievable.

If you love sappy series you might like it.

THE DEEP END OF THE OCEAN

Wow! I have no idea how they got this title but I wanted to jump into the deep end of some ocean after watching it. It was like a bad soap opera!

I love Michelle Pfeiffer so I tried to like this one. The plot is an old one, of course there really are no new stories but just different ways of telling old stories. This is the Mom who loses her child story.

Michelle Pfeiffer tried to give the story her heart but even she couldn't make it work. The telling of this old story was poor for sure.

It does share one good thing. Always keep your eye on your kids!

If you like soap opera's you'll love this movie. I gave them up years ago so it didn't make my day go by faster.

DUMA

This is a great family movie!

It's about a boy and his found friend a cheetah. It takes place in Africa. The music is wonderful and the story line even better. The film almost didn't get released due to it's slow acceptance but I think it's really worth your time to watch this one.

It's a real cheetah in the movie. The cheetah is in a park in Africa and for a small fee you can pet him.

Loved this movie...

i am sam

I really loved this movie. It's about a retarded man who raises his daughter. He runs into all kinds of problems but remains who he is...kind, honest and loving. The characters were rich and the movie flows well.

Sean Penn did a great job in my opinion. Dakota Fanning is fantastic as usual.

Have a hankie available because it's a tear jerker!
